As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will help design and develop rocket engines and propulsion systems that meet Blue Origin’s launch vehicle program requirements for various spaceflight systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Component Finite Element Models (FEM) based on interaction with the design and engine system analysis team.
- Perform classic hand calculations and FEM simulations of rocket engine hardware including turbomachinery, manifolds, and thrust chambers.
- Use structural analysis methods to support test and failure investigations.
- Communicate analysis results to the team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
- Excellent understanding of engineering fundamentals (statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials).
- Ability to work effectively in teams.
- Ability to communicate analysis results effectively.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
- Knowledge of ANSYS Mechanical.
- Knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python/MATLAB/etc).
Compensation Range: CA applicants: $75,510.00-$105,714.00; WA applicants: $75,510.00-$105,714.00
