AMSG is looking for a Lead Financial Specialist who will provide finance, management, and administrative support to our customers at the Department of Energy.

Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree or a minimum of a high school diploma and related work experience is required.
- Related experience includes:
- Minimum five (5) years of Supervisory experience, excellent communication skills, prioritizing workload, conflict resolution, and manage employees at multiple locations.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in budget & finance & auditing for private/government sector.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience with Microsoft Office Products (especially Microsoft Excel).
- Ability to obtain an L Clearance.
Travel: 0 - 25%
Core Hours: 0700- 1600 Monday through Friday. Situational Telework will be available after a successful training period.
Location: OST Headquarters, Albuquerque, NM
Responsibilities Include:- The performance of customer support, clerical duties, maintaining files, maintaining travel authorizations, and providing payroll data entry reports for OST Federal Agents & Staff.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills written and oral.
- Lead a team of seven financial specialists across numerous sites.
- Create a strong and knowledgeable financial specialist team, guiding them on new policies, and assisting, when necessary.
- Assist in developing training to the AMSG staff as well as the customer's staff.
- Work closely with federal oversights to ensure accurate reporting of time-entry, payroll, travel, and financial holdings.
- Lead the financial specialist staff in weekly briefings and update the customer weekly on action items.
- Timely delivery of required monthly and quarterly deliverables.
- File, maintain, and destroy contract file(s) in accordance with OST's records management policy and/or OST file plan. Files will be maintained in an organized audit-ready status at all stages throughout the acquisition life cycle.
- Respond to inquiries for assistance from the customer and staff in a timely manner.
- Participate, assist, support, and conduct all audits and/or assessments related to the OST Acquisition and Financial Management Program if directed by federal management.
- When time and attendance entry and audits are complete, notify the certifying official(s) or delegate(s) that payroll certification is ready for delivery of the T&A package.
- Monitor ATAAPS Un-certified report to ensure that bi-weekly payroll certification is completed in a timely manner for each team.
- Upon team certification, route to the applicable folder for electronic filing of the “Timekeeper Review and Leave Request” report for the appropriate pay period and retain it with payroll period records.
- Ensure that timesheets and payroll are certified by established deadlines.
- Provide support in training new employees, established employees, and federal employees and staff on new or updated processes and or procedures in timekeeping and or travel.
- Provide customer support to inquiries in the areas of travel, payroll, finance, and or budget within 48 hours of receipt of inquiry.
- Adhere to the Government's Channel of Communications.
