As an Admissions Representative at Azusa Pacific University, you will be a pivotal part of guiding prospective students through their inquiry, application, and enrollment processes. This role is centered on providing exceptional customer service and recruiting students into APU’s traditional undergraduate programs, undergraduate professional bachelor’s programs, and graduate programs.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
Required Experience
- One to two years of experience in admissions, sales, customer service, or a related field.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
- Primary Contact and Customer Service:
- Provide consistent, accurate, and timely information to prospective students via phone, email, text, and mail.
- Answer questions and guide prospective students through the application and enrollment process.
- Meet Enrollment Goals:
- Achieve targets for moving inquiries to applicants, applicants to admitted students, admitted students to deposits, and deposits to enrolled students.
- Directly impact tuition revenue generation.
- Maintain Regular Contact:
- Keep in touch with assigned students through calls, texts, and emails.
- Plan and execute yield events for your territory or program to encourage enrollment.
- Service-Level Agreement Compliance:
- Make 50 outbound calls per day.
- Respond to emails and voice messages within one business day.
- Manage Recruitment Territory:
- Schedule, promote, and lead meetings.
- Attend college fairs and events to recruit students.
- Application Evaluation:
- Ensure application files are complete.
- Make preliminary admission recommendations for undergraduate programs.
- Event Participation:
- Promote and participate in admissions events on campus, at regional campuses, and at feeder schools.
- Build Relationships:
- Develop and maintain relationships with high schools, community colleges, universities, churches, organizations, and businesses.
- Promote APU programs and recruit prospective students.
- Supervise Admissions Assistant:
- Oversee assigned Admissions Assistant to ensure tasks are completed to a high standard and on time.
- Provide Academic Counseling:
- Advise students on the admission process and programs of interest.
- Facilitate information exchange between programs and prospective students.
- Financial Aid Information:
- Provide financial aid information and connect students to Student Financial Services.
- Travel as Required:
- Travel locally, domestically, or internationally to recruit prospective students.
- Database Management:
- Maintain the admissions database with daily updates and report management.
- Marketing Input:
- Provide input for marketing efforts based on current trends and changes in higher education.
- Community Commitment:
- Support a Christ-centered, multicultural community that values diversity.
- Uphold the beliefs, values, and mission of the university.
- Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the executive director and/or associate director.

- Able to lift, pull, grasp, stoop to lower file drawers and reach to top of five-drawer file cabinets.
- Availability to travel throughout fall, spring and summer recruitment seasons, as well as an occasional, developmental conference out of area.
- Possess a valid California driver’s license.
- Intermittent sitting, standing and walking.

- Computer monitor and reading.

- Proficient in Google Apps, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
Compensation
- Grade 9: $23.58 to $27.12 is the hourly compensation for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
