The Senior Cash Accountant plays a critical role in the cash management and the monthly close processes, notably by ensuring cash balances are accurate and up to date. The position has opportunities to work cross-functionally with Corporate Accounting, Business Operations, and the FP&A team. The Accounting Department is integral to maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization. Our collaborative approach ensures we work closely with other departments, providing financial insights and support to drive the company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviews bank statements and records cash transactions for the organization’s multiple bank accounts, including payments, receipts, internal transfers, and bank fees.
- Oversees cash transactions and ensures that bank account balances are reported and any unusual items are investigated and timely posted.
- Aids other staff with daily recording of cash activity.
- Collaborates with accounts payable and accounts receivable teams to solve incomplete, pending, and irregular 3rd party transactions.
- Tracks and reports on cash activities for 3rd party cash accounts.
- Receives, identifies, and resolves a variety of internal and external inquiries concerning account statuses and transactions.
- Prepares monthly internal financial reporting information related to cash.
- Assists in implementing and documenting process improvements.
- Assists in coordination with external auditors.
- Prepares and reviews journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
- Additional duties as assigned by Management.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required;
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar or relevant role;
- CPA license or CPA candidate;
- Self-motivated individual with a “roll up the sleeves attitude” and a “hands-on” style, with the aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
- Good knowledge of internal control systems related to cash.
Salary range: $54,678 - $81,004
