As a member of The Cigna Group's Actuarial Executive Development Program (AEDP), you will take your existing analytical and technical skills and put them to work in a business setting, making a difference for millions across the globe!
The AEDP develops student actuaries into business leaders. You will develop through rotational opportunities in core actuarial areas such as pricing, reserving, forecasting, and risk management. Additionally, you may also explore opportunities in areas such as data science, analytics, investment management, operations, and underwriting. A typical experience consists of several rotations, each lasting 18-24 months. After graduating from the program, you can continue to rotate throughout the organization into different roles to further grow your career.
Your rotations might be in our US Commercial business, where you would analyze medical pricing methodology, set reserves levels, or serve as the market pricing lead for our dental, pharmacy, or stop loss products. Or you could work in our pharmacy economics department, where you would analyze pharmacy costs and utilization metrics to drive savings for our clients and customers. These are just a few examples of the wide variety of opportunities The Cigna Group offers in both traditional and non-traditional actuarial roles.
While your career path is ultimately in your hands, the AEDP will help guide you along your journey. The AEDP has a dedicated program team, including two credentialed FSAs, that work with associates to help identify job and professional development opportunities, support your attainment of the Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries, and provide you with unique leadership experiences.
As a program associate, you will join a large, welcoming community of actuaries who are readily available to teach and mentor you. Our community — from senior executives to current associates — are committed to providing one-on-one career advice and having discussions about their roles and experience in the health services industry.
