We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Gift and Treasury team. Key Responsibilities:
- Process cash, investment, endowment, gift, and ledger transactions while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
- Review financial documents for verification and appropriate authorization.
- Prepare spreadsheets of financial data for input/upload into finance systems and generate reports.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of the endowment database, including transactions and reconciliations.
- Analyze and reconcile accounting records, prepare correcting entries, and conduct fund account reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing and compiling audit work papers.
- Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment that values cultural competence and respect for all backgrounds and beliefs.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree in accounting; baccalaureate degree preferred.
Compensation Salary Range:
$40,000 - $50,000
The salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to drive personal vehicle for University and Foundation business (mileage reimbursed) and hold a valid driver’s license with current insurance, and a clean driving record. Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of criminal, driving record, and employment background screening. Some positions may also require credit background screening as well.
Working Conditions:
- This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
- Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times, with or without assistance such as a dolly or cart.
- May be required, on occasion, to drive personal vehicle for job-related business.
- Ability and willingness to work extended hours, as necessary.
