Under direction from the Education Administrator I of the Learning Innovation and Improvement (LII) Office and the Deputy Director of the Child Care and Development Division and working cooperatively with program offices and managers throughout the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), the incumbent is assigned responsibilities to work on various childcare and development programs and projects funded by federal and/or state funds. The position functions as a Child Development subject matter expert and contract monitor for all assigned contracts or grants. The Consultant works independently and collaboratively, and serves in a leadership role for promoting childcare programs at the local level and in the development of products, publications, and quality improvements activities.
