Job Description
Job Title: Technical Consultant
Location: New York City, NY
Type: Contract to Hire
Length: 3 months
The Technical Consultant will be responsible for identifying, documenting and validating end-to-end business needs across current and future state solutions to meet Client required digital (TranZform) solution. Candidate must possess a strong knowledge and experience in the healthcare payer space, with practiced knowledge in working with payer constituents (brokers, members, providers, employers and agencies).
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
- Works directly with the customer to implement solutions.
- Helps to drive the implementation, including the completion of requirements definitions, functional specifications, database design, systems and technical architecture definition, implementation and unit system testing and development.
- Assists in modeling and blueprinting of the overall business and technical solution.
- Delivers domain expertise in multiple application or technical areas.
- Applies understanding of the core functionality of the product mix.
- Ability to recommend solutions based on industry trends and best practices.
- Sets expectations concerning deliverability, performance, maintenance, design and cost of the project. Periodically checks status of project with client and team to assess project against plan.
- Participates in technical assessment initiatives producing feasibility and recommendation documents.
- Assists in estimating timeframe, quality and quantity of resources required to successfully implement project. Monitors and adjusts for budget and schedule variances of entire project and provides accurate and timely status reports to supervisor.
- Participates in processes for knowledge transfer, compliance, requests for variance, and approvals associated with adoption of solution architecture.
- Suggests improvements in service and solution delivery processes and techniques.
- Works with senior technical and business leads to define the strategic roadmap.
- Collaborates with other project members on technologies, approaches and troubleshooting.
- Shows initiative and takes responsibility for decisions that impact project and team goals.
- Assist in delivering demonstrations and presentations.
Contract to hire role. Candidates must be submitted with salary requirements. 50-75% travel required.
Qualifications
* Must possess a strong knowledge of the EDI processes used in healthcare (HIPAA formats), must understand the implementation life cycle supporting a phased go live for multiple products across various customer product lines (programs); must understand payer business cycles and development approaches, and must understand how to integrate various technologies.
