About the opportunity
Technical HCM Consultants are responsible for leading and contributing to the design and delivery of end-to-end solutions based on the Dayforce Extensibility Framework and Enterprise Integration technologies. As a Technical HCM Consultant you will define, design, and be responsible for delivering bespoke technical solutions ranging from custom WFM rules to Integration Processes on the Dell Boomi platform. These custom solutions help our customers with complex calculations within Dayforce and/or allow them to consume data between their Ceridian Dayforce and their third-party solutions. The Technical HCM Consultant will be comfortable designing solutions fully within the Dayforce platform or using a variety of other tools available such as Boomi.
What you'll get to do
- Participate in discussions with the customers and the CRE and/or Seller to validate whether extensibility or custom integrations are applicable to customer needs.
- Interpret the customer's business objectives and translate them into a solution and determine effort and cost to implement resulting in a signed contract.
- Act as the point of contact for clients who have signed contracts with the team for items to be developed. This may include regular status calls, requesting additional information based on developer questions or general questions while in the User story creation phase.
- Design custom extensibility solutions based on client requirements and Dayforce Extensibility Framework.
- Offer best practice recommendations on custom solutions/integrations as well as standard Dayforce product functionality.
- Design and develop modern integrations through APIs, RESTful, SOAP, Event Services and Microservices.
- Drive internal and external communications and deliverables both prior to project kickoff and during project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with other areas within Ceridian to determine product gaps, client opportunities and process improvement.
Skills and experience we value
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Math or Business or equivalent degree and experience.
- 3+ years in design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of modern APIs and middleware.
- 10+ years of experience in human capital management applications consulting.
- Expert and creative problem solver. Ability to consume requirements, using Dayforce knowledge and technical expertise to determine options to solve complex issues.
- Expert understanding of Dayforce capabilities (Payroll, Benefits, Time, Data Integration options) and how it interacts with 3rd party systems in order to design, manage and deliver complex Integration and Extensibility solutions.
- Understanding implication of data flows to/from Dayforce.
- Understand back-office impacts for Canada and US, has Canada and US domain knowledge and can build global domain knowledge.
- Offer best practice recommendations on custom solutions/integrations as well as standard product offerings.
- During pricing negotiations, be able to educate customer on what configurable and customizable options are available to the customer.
- Experience having difficult conversations with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong consulting skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities.
- Knowledge of API-led architecture and development technologies including web services (SOAP/REST) and SQL is a plus but not essential.
- Ability and willingness to travel to prospect and customer sites as needed.
- Must be able to work in an environment of very tight deadlines and strict requirements for accuracy.
- May be required to work beyond normal working hours to respond to client needs.
- Continuously sit at a desk for extended periods of time.
- Continuously be in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
- Typically works extended hours during December and January to meet peak volume demands.
