Software Consultant – Experience in OSIsoft PI

Job Location: Muskegon, MI
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead OSIsoft/AVEVA PI engineer to support the OSI PI commissioning, site training, and helping client to champion PI at site.
- Perform front-end studies and Deep Dives with global clients, consulting with the clients directly on PI System deployment and integration strategies.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to understand potential projects and scope.
- Understand industry trends, product capabilities, and customer requirements.
- Set and track KPIs for the team and address challenges when they arise.
- Have excellent knowledge of SCADA, PLC, OPC, Continuous/Batch Historians, MES systems, and DCS Based control systems, including network topology concepts.
- Possess an expert understanding of PI Architecture.
- Support PI Projects and Systems with a minimum of 48 months of experience.
- Have a superior understanding of operational principles of RtReports and create templates for customers.
- Implement, configure and troubleshoot OSI PI Interfaces including but not limited to OPC DA, PItoPI, RDBMS, UFL, EMDVB, and SISBatch.
- Have an advanced understanding of how SQL Databases are set up & administered with respect to PI systems, in addition to Oracle installation, query, and view structuring.
- Write instructions for installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of interfaces, in line with our standard and OSI recommendations.
- Draft Validation document lifecycle, including installation/operational qualification and design specification creation and execution across multiple successful projects.
- Provide resourcing estimates and technical configurations of client quotations to the Business Development Team.
- Coordinate work with vendors and contractors during project conception and implementation stages.
- Carry out all functions of System Analysts and Software Consultants, providing necessary Engineering support.
- Work with clients to understand, agree, and implement technical requirements.
- Provide client operational support to the SLA Team.
- Manage smaller projects from conception to completion.
- Manage project timelines in conjunction with the PM.
- Anticipate issues involving quality and timeliness of project deliverables.
- Make decisions regarding implementation, configuration, and installation of PI systems on client sites.
- Perform all work of a System Analyst and Software Consultant.
- May receive tasks, duties, technical guidance, or learning objectives from the Regional Manager.
- May be assigned work by the Project Manager.
- May be tasked with providing input for quotations or proposals in conjunction with Business Development.
- Work is reviewed and evaluated by Regional Manager, with input from the Project Manager and Account Manager.
- Comply with ISO 27001 Information Security Management System requirements.
- Comply with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
- Ensure that the needs and requirements of internal staff and customers are understood and delivered.
- Help develop and improve internal processes and management system by reporting corrective actions, updates, and improvement ideas.
Required Qualifications:
- Expert understanding of OSIsoft/AVEVA PI.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to understand potential projects and scope.
- Understanding of industry trends, product capabilities, and customer requirements.
- Setting and tracking of KPIs for the team.
- Excellent knowledge of SCADA, PLC, OPC, Continuous/Batch Historians, MES systems, and DCS Based control systems.
- Expert understanding of PI Architecture.
- 36 months minimum supporting PI Projects and Systems.
- Superior understanding of operational principles of RtReports.
- Highly competent in implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting OSI PI Interfaces.
- Advanced understanding of SQL Databases with respect to PI systems.
- Ability to write instructions for installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of interfaces.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position depends on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
