Description
Provide Environmental Health and Safety services to PROtect's clients to identify and assist in developing layers of protection to mitigate risk. Provide technical support to EHS divisions, including providing excellent customer service and professional expertise to assist customers in maintaining regulatory compliance with all applicable regulations.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
- Perform site specific regulatory, consensus standard, or best management practice assessments across the United States.
- Create and administer site specific and safety topic specific, on-site, or webinar safety training.
- Assist clients in developing EHS policies and procedures coupled with implementation.
- Assist with the maintenance and continuous improvement of PROtect’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all EHS services.
- Assist with the development and presentation of existing and new products, services, and publications specific to PROtect’s safety services.
- Pursue continuous learning opportunities annually.
- Participate in independent onsite audits.

Environmental:
- Provide technical expertise and services for air and water related permits and plans that include but are not limited to: Air Construction and Operating Permits including Title V Permits, Potential to Emit (PTE) and Actual Emission calculations, NPDES Discharge Permits, Construction, and Industrial Stormwater Plans, SPCC and FRP Plans.
- Prepare annual reports such as Tier II Reports, Emission Inventories, Fuel Additive Manufacturer Annual Reports, Toxics Release Inventories, GHG Reporting, and TSCA CDR Reporting.
- Assist facilities with ongoing compliance needs including but not limited to: maintenance of permitting requirements such as 12-month rolling totals, quarterly compliance reports and required notifications.
- Prepare Risk Management Plans and associated backup documentation.
- Experience related to air dispersion analysis, running models and compiling dispersion analysis reports.
- Complete onsite Environmental Assessments to evaluate a facility’s compliance.
- Research and interpret state and federal regulations.
- Support customer discussions and interface with state and federal agencies.
- Assist in performing carbon modeling and life cycle analysis for multiple applications including CARB and EPA (pathway petitions and EP3 applications).
Requirements
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical, environmental, engineering, or safety & health field is required.
ASP, CHST, CIH or similar certification with combination of experience.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
4-10 years professional level EHS experience with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong understanding of EPA (CAA, CWA, TSCA, EPCRA, RCRA, etc), OSHA, DOT, NFPA, MSHA, FDA and state specific regulations. Knowledge of general chemical/petrochemical/grain processing and industrial manufacturing processes is preferred. Shall be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.
Skills/Abilities:
Ability to sit for long periods of time and perform sedentary computer work. Able to work from home/remote and stay focused and productive. Strong writing, strategic and interpersonal verbal communications skills. Ability to efficiently research health and safety regulations and policies. Ability to manage multiple projects at a time, self-motivated to accomplish goals with remote oversight. Strong customer service abilities with the ability to understand the big picture while remaining detail oriented.
Physical Activities and Requirements of this Position:
Site visits required - up to 75% travel required or as needed. Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive during adverse conditions across multiple states. May include work over weekends or travel on weekends. Potential to be exposed to loud noises, wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme hot and cold depending on weather conditions. Ability to walk 5 miles regularly coupled with climbing fixed ladders and stairs to significant height. May require lifting of up to 25 pounds on occasion.
