Springfield, VT: We’re looking for a confident Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to be a Hospitalist in an award-winning 25-bed critical access community hospital in beautiful southeastern Vermont (near the New Hampshire border). This health system also includes a 10-site FQHC network and, along with the hospital, provides care to over 40,000 area residents. As a Hospitalist, you will join a team of three physicians as the fourth advanced practice provider caring for inpatient adults (average census runs 12-18) including a Med/Surg unit. You will manage admissions and discharges, performing at the same level as the physicians. There is no ICU here – serious cases are referred to nearby Dartmouth.
You will have a convenient schedule of 7 days on, then 7 days off, rotating day shift / night shift every 3-6 months. If you prefer a nocturnist schedule, you can work nights all the time! When on DAYS, 7am-7pm, you will work independently alongside the physician hospitalists. When on NIGHTS, 7pm-7am, you will provide solo coverage with on-call physician backup. You will consult with specialists as needed and work in conjunction with numerous regional primary care providers. The inpatient service is supported by a terrific clinical and administrative team that provides exceptional service to practitioners and patients alike.
