Compensation: $60,273.29-$67,799.25 plus excellent benefits including generous employer contributions to medical, dental and vision premiums, and participation in the Oregon PERS retirement system, 180 days work year, (mid-September through mid-June) with summers off! A collaborative, equity-minded leader to serve as Nurse Educator. The Nurse Educator is responsible for creating, assessing, and continuously improving the policies, processes, and practices necessary to facilitate equitable student learning and success; deliver excellent service; and accomplish the work of the Nursing department.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching lecture and theory courses.
- Overseeing both first- and second-year nursing students in clinical environments.
- Assisting in the instruction of basic nursing skills.
- Engaging in simulation lab activities to deliver an interdisciplinary, competency-based curriculum.
- Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and contemporary learning technologies to enhance learning and support student achievement.
This role reports directly to the Director of Nursing and Health Occupations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and be driven by a genuine desire to advance the College’s Mission and Priorities. Accordingly, the Nurse Educator will provide excellent service with a focus on closing equity gaps in educational access and attainment and will work to promote inclusive prosperity throughout the Columbia Gorge region.

Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Nursing or a baccalaureate degree in nursing and master’s or doctoral degree in a related field with relevant teaching and nursing experience related to the teaching assignment.
- Candidates holding a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in a Master’s of Nursing program may be considered.
Licensing and Experience:
- Candidates must possess and maintain an unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse license.
- A minimum of three years of full-time patient care experience as a registered nurse is required.
- Proven teaching competence, which can be demonstrated through past experience, educational background, or ongoing professional development.
- Strong communication skills are required to effectively facilitate learning.
- Experience promoting equity-minded and diversely represented communications and materials.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Must fulfill the criteria established by the Oregon State Board of Nursing for Nurse Educators.
- Must meet the Oregon Health Authority's requirements for clinical instructors concerning immunizations, criminal background checks, and drug screening.
