Job Summary:
Describes anatomy/steps for surgeries; uses sterile technique; assists surgical team with procedures; collaborates with other members of the OR team; transports patients; demonstrates knowledge of normal growth and development in the delivery of care; facilitates open communication with all team members; initiates and supports the teaching mentoring process; maintains a safe work environment; resolves problems on a one-to-one basis; takes an active role in professional development. Participates in the development/implementation of educational programs for the surgical technologist program; demonstrates the ability to perform surgical technology skills for all general and specialty-based cases preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eligible for certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists through the completion of a formal certificate or degree program in Surgical Technology or by meeting the Association of Surgical Technologists experience requirements, plus one year of experience as a Surgical Technologist or comparable position in an acute care setting required.
Work Days:
Days/Evenings/Nights based on operational needs with rotating weekends and holiday call required.
