We have partnered with a non-profit organization who is seeking to add a VP of Finance and Accounting to their team. The Vice President of Finance and Accounting plans and oversees all aspects of an organization's financial processes and establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives. This role is hybrid, (4x in office) out of Long Beach, CA.
Responsibilities: - Develops and implements the Division goals, projects, policies, procedures, methods and controls and directs the general accounting activities, including maintenance of general ledgers, analysis of financial statements, and review of payroll records.
- Prepares monthly, and close-out reports as required by California and Federal regulations, profit-loss statements, annual corporate tax and not-for-profit returns/statements, and special financial reports, studies, and analyses.
- Develops and maintains the internal audit control system and develops and administers the cash management and capital expenditure program.
- Provides data, reports, and other information to assist and support the Division Directors and President/CEO in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly reports utilized in the financial management of all divisions.
- Forecasts revenues, expenditures, year-end balances, cash positions, and cash flows; plans, designs, implements, and modifies the data processing system; prepares and revises the fiscal operations procedure manual.
- Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates division staff; and demonstrates commitment to empower other Directors in the financial management of their divisions.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Experience in a non-profit environment is a plus
- Planning, coordinating, and directing a complex financial operation.
- Developing, revising, and installing accounting systems and procedures.
- Demonstrating leadership competencies in building a high value organization.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and auditing.
$150,000 - $170,000 a year
