Job Responsibilities:- The Engineer IV performs difficult and complex professional engineering work in the planning, design, construction, maintenance and/or operation of specialized engineering projects.
- The Engineer V supervises the planning, design, construction, maintenance and/or operation of a number of major and complex engineering projects.
- Engineers at the V level perform work characterized by many, varied complex features due to the breadth, diversity, or intensity of assignments.
Minimum Requirements:- Legal Authorization to Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
- Professional License: Applicants MUST POSSESS a valid State of Hawaii Professional Engineer license AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
- Basic Education: A bachelor's degree from a school of engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Engineering Experience: Three (3) years for Level IV; and for Level V, four (4) years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience.
- Supervisory Aptitude Experience: For the Level V, applicants must possess Supervisory Aptitude as described in the complete Minimum Qualification Requirements.
- Driver's License: Some positions require a valid driver's license.
- Special Requirements: Some positions require the ability to lift and carry items of various weights with or without reasonable accommodation.
Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance - Federal Criminal History Records Check:In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check.
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Clearance - Federal Criminal History Records Check:In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the harbor must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check.
