Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission

Starting Range: $90,000 to $120,000 p/year (with upward potential).

Range: $65,812.76 - $91,611.00, commensurate with experience.

Maine Legislature Office of Fiscal and Program Review

Range: $4,000-$5,000 p/month, commensurate with experience.

The session-only (Jan-May) policy analyst will provide detailed research and analysis of legislation for the Senate Minority caucus and staff. We are seeking a policy-oriented individual who works well under pressure and changing circumstances.

Responsibilities

Read all legislation that is introduced.
Work collaboratively with the Senate Minority policy staff to conduct research and strategic analysis.
Assist the policy staff in preparing memos and reports as needed.
Preparation of legislative research for Senators during committee meetings.
Meet with Senators regularly to discuss committee schedule.

Qualifications

Familiarity with the Colorado legislative process and recent legislation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Strong reading comprehension and writing skills.
Must be adaptable in a constantly changing environment and willing to work long hours.
Must be able to work in an organized manner, with the ability to collaborate, problem solve, and work on a team while also taking individual responsibility to complete assignments.
The individual in this position will maintain professionalism with every person they work with, including non-partisan staff, legislators and staff of the House and Senate Majority offices, constituents, and lobbyists.

Salary:$4,000-5,000/month commensurate with experience, with enrollment in PERA, the state’s pension program, and insurance benefits.

A decision will be made by Friday, December 6, 2024.
Start date is Thursday, January 2, 2025.
