Starting Range: $90,000 to $120,000 p/year (with upward potential).
Range: $65,812.76 - $91,611.00, commensurate with experience.
Maine Legislature Office of Fiscal and Program Review
Range: $4,000-$5,000 p/month, commensurate with experience.
The session-only (Jan-May) policy analyst will provide detailed research and analysis of legislation for the Senate Minority caucus and staff. We are seeking a policy-oriented individual who works well under pressure and changing circumstances.
Responsibilities
- Read all legislation that is introduced.
- Work collaboratively with the Senate Minority policy staff to conduct research and strategic analysis.
- Assist the policy staff in preparing memos and reports as needed.
- Preparation of legislative research for Senators during committee meetings.
- Meet with Senators regularly to discuss committee schedule.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Colorado legislative process and recent legislation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Strong reading comprehension and writing skills.
- Must be adaptable in a constantly changing environment and willing to work long hours.
- Must be able to work in an organized manner, with the ability to collaborate, problem solve, and work on a team while also taking individual responsibility to complete assignments.
- The individual in this position will maintain professionalism with every person they work with, including non-partisan staff, legislators and staff of the House and Senate Majority offices, constituents, and lobbyists.
Salary:$4,000-5,000/month commensurate with experience, with enrollment in PERA, the state’s pension program, and insurance benefits.

- A decision will be made by Friday, December 6, 2024.
- Start date is Thursday, January 2, 2025.
