Job Title: Account Development Manager
Reports To: Associate Director Account Development APAC; or designee
Summary:
As the Account Development Manager, you will be responsible for research and qualification of R&D activities within the pharma and biotech sector, engaging with key decision makers to promote Syneos Health solutions within the region (Japan). This position drives strategies to identify, qualify and engage with potential clients for new business opportunities through a multi-channel approach including emails, face-to-face meetings, LinkedIn, conferences, and cold calls. To be considered for this role you must show a good understanding of drug development with experience working in a sales or sales support role in the healthcare industry.
Essential Functions:
- Achieve or exceed assigned sales objectives.
- Actions on qualifying of accounts for specific market segments based on industry activity with the assistance of management and Business Intelligence (BI). Review clients’ ongoing plans through research and analysis.
- Maintains effective and meaningful relationships with developing leads in ‘prospect’ account segments.
- Delivers the Company’s messages effectively to clients; conducts discussions with internal and external decision makers that help advance the engagement to sale.
- Documents and monitors progress in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, including lead research details, tracking contacts, and pertinent follow-up information.
- Works directly with Business Development and management to evaluate, research, and prioritize potential clients.
- Identifies clinical development opportunities and ensures initiation of discussion with accounts and early oversight for decision to pursue.
- Leverages from all meetings and conferences with Business Development to generate leads and engagement with current and new accounts.
- Participates in Business Development processes and meetings to ensure consistency and alignment to activity.
- Generates and analyzes reports to manage Account Development metrics and KPIs.
Other Responsibilities:
Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Minimal travel may be required (up to 10%).
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in a biological science, business, or related field.
- 3 or more years of experience in Sales, Sales Support, Lead Generation, Customer Relationship development and management.
- Working knowledge of clinical development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and email.
- CRM skills in managing a customer relationship database.
- Effective written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to conduct research using various online resources.
- Above average attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Ability to demonstrate persistence and achievement in hitting targets.
- Being a self-starter and resourceful is necessary to perform this job successfully.
- Must demonstrate enthusiasm, passion, natural competitiveness, & a strong desire to succeed.
