The Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer will operate as a leader and individual technical contributor, responsible for contributions towards and oversight of key Sleep, Diagnostics and Respiratory product development projects from a mechanical engineering perspective.
Please note: Due to the consolidation of our sites in PA, if based in PA, this role will start at the Bakery Square office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and move to another site in the greater Pittsburgh area (New Kensington or Murrysville) by the end of the year. This change will bring our teams in western Pennsylvania closer together to remain competitive and committed to our customers, clinicians, and patients and create value with sustainable impact.
Your role:
Provide high level expertise in respiratory mechanics, algorithms, clinical practices and risk management to the mechanical engineering team.
Participate in the early development activities of Sleep, Diagnostics and Respiratory products having a Systems mindset.
This role will have the opportunity and expectation to advance to the Mechanical Architect role providing innovative strategies and Intellectual Property generation.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Sleep, Diagnostics & Respiratory Mechanical Engineering, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers and specialists throughout the Sleep & Respiratory Care organization.
You're the right fit if:
You’ve acquired a minimum of 15 years' experience in the design and development of sleep or respiratory care products, with experience in Systems Engineering highly desire.
Your skills include Intimate knowledge of FDA quality systems including ISO 13485, 21CFR Part820 and Risk Management-ISO 14971.
You have a minimum of a Master's Degree (Required) in Mechanical or Biomedical engineering. PhD desired.
You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position .

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our Office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations. This is an office role.

The pay range for this position in Pittsburgh, PA is $116,000 to $199,000.
The pay range for this position in San Diego, CA is $130,000 to $223,000.
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
