Portfolio Manager
San Mateo/Los Angeles Preferred, Remote Considered
The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for ensuring our portfolio of games collectively align with PlayStation Studio’s overall business objectives. You will perform strategic planning analysis and evaluate titles based on their market potential, competitive strength, profitability, and fit within the portfolio. You’ll help inform investment decisions and manage how we optimize and rebalance the portfolio for future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Investment – Define where to invest and why. You will assess each title’s incremental contribution to the portfolio and evaluate a title’s commercial potential and level of risk. Develop detailed financial models for analysis of existing and potential investments.
- Portfolio Management – Prioritize and optimize the portfolio mix. You’ll assess the current composition of titles and evaluate market attractiveness vs. title performance to recommend strategies to optimize the portfolio. You’ll take a dynamic view for how we mitigate downside risk by looking at all risk factors both internal and external using scenario testing, sensitivity analysis, and stress-testing.
- Market Analysis – You’ll monitor market trends and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities for portfolio expansion. You’ll also analyze customer needs and preferences to identify gaps in the existing product portfolio on a multi-year time horizon. You’ll participate in the evaluation of new investment opportunities, including modeling various scenarios and assessing portfolio fit.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or MBA required.
- Strong financial modeling skills. Must be able to assess market dynamics, evaluate game performance, and make informed decisions about portfolio’s direction.
- Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are critical. A deep and extensive knowledge of the PlayStation Studios portfolio and individual IP.
- Deep market knowledge in the gaming industry across different platforms, business models, genres, and markets.
- Detailed-oriented, organized, and customer-centric mindset.
- Passion for innovation and pushing the boundaries of creative possibilities.
