Locus’ Impact Investment Services (IIS) team supports foundations and community development investors in their pursuit of impact goals by helping them to design, develop and manage guarantee programs and other investment funds.
- Serve as primary point of contact for and manager of IIS’ existing guarantee/investment funds.
- Direct the IIS business unit’s active fund and guarantee engagements.
- Serve as a leader and people manager within IIS.
- Support SVP CIGP/IIS and senior Locus leaders including Chief Growth & Strategy Officer to develop and implement growth plan for a financially sustainable Locus Guarantee business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Live and represent the values and mission of the organization - keeping diverse, equitable, and inclusive impact at the center of all efforts and execution.
- Serve as primary manager for IIS managed investment/guarantee funds and as lead point of contact for clients/investors in connection with these funds. Understand client/investor expectations and ensure satisfaction.
- Manage ongoing operations for existing Locus managed funds including: performing, overseeing and/or managing asset servicing, portfolio management, financial and impact reporting, accounting, budgeting and cash management, audit, and investor relations, among others.
- Manage investment pipeline, and oversee deal sourcing, structuring, evaluation, decisioning, and closing via internal and/or outsourced functions.
- Oversee and manage internal and third-party provider's due diligence and underwriting of potential client investments.
- As needed, support due diligence with the development of credit memos and other reports.
- Coordinate legal support by liaising with legal counsel to formalize underlying deal structure and collaborate in the creation of necessary formation documents, legal agreements, and other documentation.
- Oversee portfolio management and investor reporting in coordination with Risk and other Locus teams.
- Provide investment/guarantee program pre-launch advisory support as needed including development of programmatic thesis, structure, and governance (i.e. investment policies, asset classes and product offerings, credit/investment criteria, impact goals/metrics, target investors, and other relevant activities).
- Provide financial modeling support as needed including: development and maintenance of complex financial models, performance of related research, and creation of ancillary analyses.
- Develop and support implementation of evaluation frameworks, investment policies and procedures, and capital raise strategies as needed.
- Support acquisition of new IIS client relationships through direct marketing, structuring of suitable fund and guarantee solutions, development of pitch materials, and participation in client prospecting meetings. Responsibilities shall also include research, creation of strategic frameworks and tools, and management of opportunity pipeline.
- Support the development of overall Impact Investment Services strategy and the build out of business line's mission-driven book of clients, products, and services. This will include working with SVP CIGP/IIS and senior Locus leaders to develop and implement growth plan for a financially sustainable Locus Guarantee business.
- Participate in Locus business and product development by conducting research, preparing proposals, and helping to manage pipeline opportunities. This will include supporting the development and launch of new Locus managed guarantee funds.
Compensation and Benefits
- $125,000 - $160,000 annual salary, depending on skills and experience.

Qualifications
- Strong mission alignment with a particular focus on achieving equitable outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree, ideally with coursework in finance or economics; master’s degree in relevant field preferred.
- At least ten (10) years of professional experience; with at least five (5) years in relevant work experience in impact investing or philanthropy, community development finance, commercial or investment banking, structured finance, or private equity or debt.
- Experience, knowledge of, or interest in the following is desirable: climate finance, renewable energy, community development financing, impact investing, credit enhancement/guarantee programs, working with place-focused foundations and impact investing funds.
- Experience evaluating, structuring, developing, and/or managing relevant investments.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and as part of team in a remote environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on performance and results.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinker and proficient in decision-making.
- Strong experience leading, supervising, and motivating a team of finance, investment, or consultant professionals.
