The Cross-Media Measurement team at Disney Entertainment Television is responsible for data stewardship/quality across multiple content data sources, ensuring accurate multi-platform measurement. They are also responsible for identifying and helping to resolve internal and external data issues to provide an accurate and expedited turn around so that stakeholders may have clarity on the performance of our content. Finally, they are responsible for assessing and writing new SQL code to help make content reporting and analysis more efficient.
The Sr. Analyst is curious about data, wants to learn the entertainment landscape, has great attention to detail, and is always seeking ways to improve current processes. They will help maintain the Multi-Platform Ratings (MPR) tool along with related dashboards and reports, increasing their efficiency and accuracy through the improvement of SQL code. They will also support tracking of new and upcoming programming across linear and digital platforms and help disseminate accurate and timely content schedule information to our measurement partners (e.g. Nielsen).
Responsibilities:
Data Stewardship/Quality: QA data, ensure anomalies/bugs are escalated, and if needed, develop workarounds to ensure data is as clean as possible, as the MPR tool is the source of truth for content viewership KPIs at Disney. Fix and map data as needed to ensure MPR is reliable. Work with multiple data sources across different technologies to help identify and correctly fill any gaps. Continually assess and write new SQL code to make reporting more efficient.
Operations: Maintain existing reports while continuing to explore new ways to help improve the performance of current reports and/or processes. Upload accurate and timely content schedule information to our measurement partners (e.g. Nielsen).
Deep-Dive Analysis: Fulfill occasional Ad Hoc requests due to any missing data or issues around the performance of a show. The analyst will need to investigate the current content data mappings along with the different data sources to isolate the issue and escalate when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of analytical experience. Ability to think strategically and analyze data.
Minimum of 2 years hands-on work experience writing SQL code.
Minimum of 2 years hands-on work experience with Excel/Google Docs/PowerPoint.
Strong communication skills, as well as written and verbal presentation skills.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Able to learn new technologies and processes while providing well organized documentation.
Strong team collaborator, but able to work well autonomously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with intermediate/advanced SQL and Excel.
Experience with data exploration and data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, etc.
Experience with documentation and ticketing systems like Jira, Confluence, and GitHub.
Prior industry experience.
Experience with digital and linear (Nielsen) video and ad measurement.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, data science, or other technology/math intensive discipline, and/or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Education:
Certifications in SQL, Python, Snowflake, AWS, or other data languages and technologies.
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $78,800 to $108,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
