We are currently seeking talented damages and forensic accounting leaders to join our growing office in Los Angeles in the role of Associate Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct economic, financial, accounting, and industry research
- Analyze financial and non-financial information, and report findings to other team members
- Assist with the preparation of damages, forensic accounting, and construction quantum reports
- Assist with the preparation of critique reports examining the conclusions of other experts
- Develop positive relationships with colleagues, peers, and clients
- Communicate with clients and counsel
- Prepare for and attend hearings, trials, and mediations
- Manage the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Requisite professional designations and work experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar, from an accredited university or college
- 7+ years of prior experience in economic damages and/or forensic accounting
- Prior experience at one of the ‘Big Four’ accounting firms would be an asset
- Holder of or pursuing CPA, CFF, CFA, CFE, or ABV credentials is a plus
- Strong expert report writing skills to complement analytics
- Able to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations and develop creative approaches and solutions necessary to resolve complex problems
- The ability to manage and prioritize your time and your team’s time, potentially against a backdrop of competing deadlines
- The ability to manage team members, both junior and senior, as well as external stakeholders
- The ability to work independently whilst knowing which issues and risks need to be highlighted to senior staff, ideally accompanied by suggested viable solutions
- Excellent analytical and problem resolution abilities
- Excellent listening, verbal, written, technical, and presentation skills
- The desire to lead auxiliary tasks associated with a growing practice within a rapidly growing firm
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint
- The ability to travel as needed
- Working proficiency in a second non-English language is a plus
