Role description:
Roles at this level will lead the discovery, capture, and delivery of major and complex projects in the data center asset class, liaising with senior internal/external stakeholders to ensure client expectations are defined, needs are met, and strong leadership is provided to all program and project teams. They are responsible for ensuring all work and outputs are executed to meet the requirements of relevant business strategies and client expectations.
Lead and manage client relationships on US regional and global accounts to establish Arcadis as a trusted partner and achieve growth. This role is United States scope/location, the position can be filled in any location where Arcadis has a legal entity in the US.
Reports to Business Area Sales Director – Places.
Role accountabilities:
Deliver Services
- Lead a diverse functional team, setting strategic objectives, managing performance, and ensuring that staff have the necessary skills to deliver project requirements and organizational objectives.
- Drive performance by leading the definition and implementation of complex portfolios and projects, guiding multi-disciplinary teams, and working to organization timescales in excess of one year to ensure delivery standards meet client expectations.
- Act as a technical expert for data center asset development initiatives, providing strategic advice and insight to senior leaders in the organization to support successful definition, delivery, and commercial decision-making in line with capture and delivery strategies.
- Assist in the definition and execution of the account plan for multiple large clients.
Driving Business Growth
- Develop, implement, and manage account plans for key and emerging client accounts in line with Arcadis US business objectives to drive growth and deliver winning pursuits of significant value.
- Develop and grow target and existing accounts (opportunity pipeline, revenue, bookings and margin) to meet or exceed planned targets.
- Lead and manage local pursuits and contribute towards global pursuits, contribute to bid/no-bid decisions, and lead client pitches/presentations to ensure successful closing of pursuits.
- Manage the US regional pipeline and feed opportunities into the global account pipeline to ensure an optimal flow of pursuits to achieve local and global targets.
- Work collaboratively with Service and Solutions Leaders to manage the targeting and tailoring of Arcadis value propositions into commercially viable propositions for the account, demonstrating value-creating outcomes for the client.
- Capture locally, and make available for the account team global, track record, case studies, sales collateral relationship history and delivery lessons learned to ensure continuous improvement in client relationship management.
- Develop and leverage a network of enduring relationships at the Board level and with strategic buyers across the client regionally to understand their business needs, position Arcadis as a trusted partner and contribute to the global account client relationship development.
Client Focus & Experience
- Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for improved efficiencies both portfolio-wide and in cross-organizational working, to ensure commercial viability and client and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Influence a range of senior stakeholders, building and managing critical relationships to ensure all parties are informed and aligned about how to deliver strategic objectives.
- Promote the culture and brand of Arcadis externally.
- Act as a conduit for B2B knowledge sharing and learning, demonstrating the depth of experience and connectivity in the data center asset class.
- Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the client and the technology sector with a focus on data centers to identify key trends and emerging opportunities.
People & High-Performance Culture
- Manage, motivate, and provide direction to senior specialists and managers, to develop a driven and well-informed team.
- Educate and influence senior colleagues about commercial strategies, risk policies, and governance processes to instill a culture of awareness and commitment to risk management and ensure compliance with organizational policies and codes of conduct.
- Develop senior relationships throughout Arcadis US to foster cooperation and to maximize opportunities to cross-sell and trade up.
- Coach and mentor Subsector leaders, Senior Account Leaders, and Account Leaders.
Operational Performance
- Guide the overall financial management of projects and portfolios, including developing performance targets and budgets, and helping to develop key commercial strategies, in order to meet and exceed financial targets.
- Analyze and review recommendations and analyses from multiple sources to make informed, authoritative strategic decisions to improve business performance.
- Direct, define, and lead the development and continuous improvement of portfolio-wide processes, systems, and policies, and contribute to wider organizational initiatives to improve performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
- Degree-qualified
- Experience as a leading expert in data center development, delivery, and business development.
- Experience and knowledge of market trends, clients, and emerging technology with a robust, matured network of professionals and clients and bring a wealth of industry knowledge built on a solid foundation of trust and collaboration.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners, whilst engaging and managing businesses at the board level.
- Experience leading major projects and pursuits with a diversity of deliverables.
- Commercial acumen and an ability to take part in strategic negotiations, whilst navigating complex business change solutions, focusing on achieving measurable results and driving performance through clear goals and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Show a commitment to ethical practices and integrity, fostering a culture of trust and respect within the organization and with external partners.
- Strong emphasis on understanding and meeting customer needs, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
- International exposure and additional languages are an advantage but not essential.

- Presentation skills & etiquette suitable for all levels up to Boardroom.
- Relevant degree qualification or charted status [Degree Qualification] (Desired).

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. This position is eligible for participating in a company bonus program. The salary range for this position is $169,000 to $194,350. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
