Job Summary:
Crown Bioscience is seeking a seasoned Business Development candidate to join our dynamic team. As a leader in preclinical and translational oncology research, Crown Bioscience is expanding its services to include Clinical Biomarker services with a focus on genomics, proteomics, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) technologies. This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise and business acumen to help define and sell our Clinical Biomarker Services. The successful candidate will play an important role in driving the growth and success of our business in this emerging field.
Responsibilities:
- Meet the annual target set by Crown Biosciences management.
- Define and develop Clinical IHC, Biomarker, and Genomic Services.
- Support Crown’s Biosciences Corporate strategy for the above services.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including scientific and operational teams, to understand capabilities, identify gaps, and develop innovative service offerings.
- Use strong working knowledge of Crown Biosciences processes to ensure successful implementation and delivery of clinical IHC, genomic, and biomarker services.
Business Development and Sales:
- Support developing and executing a strategic business development plan to drive revenue growth and market expansion for clinical genomic and biomarker services.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and contracts with pharmaceutical and biotech companies, clinical research organizations (CROs), and academic institutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including KOLs, decision-makers, and influencers in the industry.
- Lead the negotiation of contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Represent Crown Bioscience at industry conferences, seminars, and scientific meetings to enhance the company's visibility and reputation.
- Develop a routine weekly "in-person" sponsor appointment schedule for the Eastern region.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, or similar scientific disciplines.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in business development and sales roles in the life science industry selling into the Clinical Trial market.
- Overtime and weekends may be required.
- Mandatory immunizations and screening as required.
- Attending technical conferences, exhibits, and entertaining clients after business hours.
- Travel required 40-50% depending on individual assigned territories.
- Maintain an office at home.
- Strong background and understanding of Crown's internal processes and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated track record of success in driving business growth and achieving sales targets.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both scientific and business audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Preferred Requirements:
- Advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline is preferred.
- Experience in Key Account Development sales roles in pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or CRO is preferred.
