Job Summary:
The Senior Director of Integrated Product Strategy for the Products and Space Portfolio will spearhead the strategic direction and lifecycle management of our commercial products, ensuring sustained market relevance and industry-leading competitiveness. This pivotal role also encompasses the comprehensive evaluation and integration of emerging technologies at TRL-4 to TRL-8, driving them into commercial products.
A primary focus will be on harmonizing market needs, engineering roadmaps, and technology delivery with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), IR&D funding allocations, marketing timelines, sales launches, and the Voice of the Customer feedback loop. This ensures a cohesive, end-to-end strategy across all departments. The position will evolve to lead a dedicated team, fostering innovation, collaboration and excellence of delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lifecycle Management: Oversee the strategic roadmap lifecycle of commercial products, identifying enhancements, forging partnerships, and adapting to market shifts to maintain competitive advantage.
- Cross-Departmental Alignment: Ensure seamless integration of technology delivery and engineering roadmaps with sales launches, IR&D funding allocations, marketing initiatives, and AOP objectives, fostering a unified strategy across all product initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Champion cross-functional teams in strategy and planning discussions, cultivating collaboration among diverse stakeholders, including engineers, marketing, and senior leadership.
- Product Commercialization: Formulate and execute comprehensive strategies for the commercialization of new and existing products, ensuring alignment with market demands and organizational goals.
- Technology Evaluation: Lead the rigorous vetting and evaluation of emerging technologies at TRL-4 to TRL-8, assessing their potential for commercialization.
- Product Design: Support the product design/re-design process, ensuring that products are developed with innovative features and user-centric solutions that meet market needs and enhance user experience.
- Risk Analysis: Conduct thorough risk analysis for product initiatives, identifying potential challenges and developing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project execution.
- Customer-Centric Approach: Establish and maintain robust feedback mechanisms to gather and analyze customer insights, ensuring product development aligns with genuine customer needs.
- Go-to-Market Strategies: Support go-to-market strategies that maximize product visibility and adoption across defense and civilian markets.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collect inputs from across the BH team’s stakeholder engagements to provide a coherent full picture of stakeholder needs, while effectively navigating differing perspectives to foster a collaborative environment and drive strategic initiatives.
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy and identify new avenues for growth.
- Team Leadership: As the role matures, lead and develop a dedicated team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability to execute product strategies and initiatives effectively.
- Meeting Facilitation: Lead, organize, and facilitate technical discussions across divisions to drive technical solutions for complex mission spaces.
Key Collaborations:
- Business Development, Sales, and Marketing Teams: Collaborate closely with sales and marketing to align product strategies with market needs and promotional efforts.
- Division Technical Teams: Partner with engineering and R&D teams to ensure product development aligns with technological advancements.
- Finance: Work alongside finance to ensure product strategies align with budgetary constraints and funding opportunities.
- Executive Leadership: Engage with the executive team, providing strategic updates on product initiatives and performance, ensuring transparency and alignment with overall business objectives.
- Facilities and Growth Planning: Coordinate with facilities and growth planning teams to ensure physical space availability and timely delivery for program and production expansion.
Success Metrics:
- Product Performance: Monitor the success of commercial products through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue growth, market share, and customer satisfaction.
- Portfolio Health: Assess the health of the portfolio by measuring the progress of each product, including cycle times, capability delivery, timing, and budget adherence.
- AOP Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to the Annual Operating Plan, confirming that projects are funded and executed as planned.
- Technology Integration: Evaluate the successful integration of emerging technologies into the product portfolio, assessing their impact on overall product performance.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Measure the effectiveness of alignment across departments through feedback and performance reviews, ensuring all teams work towards common goals.
- Team Development: As the role evolves, assess the growth and performance of the team under your leadership, focusing on skill development and successful project execution.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in an engineering related field.
- 10, or more, years related experience.
- Experience in managing commercial products roadmaps.
- Experience in bringing early lifecycle products to full commercialization to include features, UI/UX, market analysis, pricing.
- Track record of success on cross division team development supporting technology integration.
