Duties:
- Provide legal counsel on environmental aspects of complex transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructurings.
- Draft and negotiate environmental-related contractual provisions, including representations, warranties, covenants, and indemnities.
- Offer strategic advice on regulatory compliance and environmental permitting matters.
- Advise clients on pre- and post-transaction compliance and regulatory issues.
- Collaborate with internal partners, clients, environmental consultants, and government agencies to ensure compliance.
- Deliver high-quality legal work and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Continuously improve legal knowledge and skills, seeking feedback and guidance for professional growth.
- Foster relationships with clients and contribute to business development efforts.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in environmental law, particularly in real estate and corporate transactions.
- Proven ability to manage complex environmental legal matters.
- Strong background advising clients in industries such as manufacturing, real estate, and renewable energy.
- Licensed to practice law in Michigan, Illinois, or Washington, DC (or ability to waive into these jurisdictions).
- Ability to travel as needed for client-related matters.
Education:
- J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
