Summary of the Position:
The Director/Senior Director of Acquisitions will join as a member of the Los Angeles Acquisitions team, primarily responsible for sourcing and executing acquisitions opportunities in Southern California and Seattle. This person will also serve as a thought leader in the office helping to think through the strategic direction of the existing office and multifamily portfolio. This individual will be involved in all aspects of investment activity, including: underwriting and financial modeling; deal structuring; coordinating due diligence; supporting financings; negotiating terms; and shepherding deals through internal review and Investment Committee approval processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate, screen and assess investment ideas and themes.
- Lead or support all aspects of investment activity, from deal origination to transaction execution: source, underwrite, and structure investment opportunities in Southern California and Seattle.
- Conduct commercial, legal and financial due diligence; perform valuation, market and risk analyses of office, multifamily, industrial and life sciences assets.
- Work closely with team members to optimize deal structure by negotiating term sheets and agreements with partners.
- Develop business plans and exit strategy with asset management teams.
- Foster relationships with management teams and internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain contact with lenders, brokers, developers, consultants, and investors.
- Assist with other strategic special projects including investor presentations and capital markets strategy for the existing portfolio.
- Train and mentor junior team members.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in an analytically rigorous Real Estate role, with preference for relevant market knowledge.
- Exceptional analytical skills and financial acumen.
- Collaborative nature and willingness to build and sustain productive working relationships with colleagues across various teams.
- Strong verbal and written presentation skills.
- Conscientious attention to detail.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
The base compensation range for this role is $160,000 to $225,000. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, as well as access to our comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) plan (with matching contributions), wellness benefits and all other benefits afforded to full-time Tishman Speyer employees.
