As Group Manager for Maintainability on site in Greensboro, North Carolina you will be leading the aftermarket input to development of new or improved transport solutions. In this role, you will lead a dynamic, hands-on engineering team with responsibility for all areas of the truck and all product ranges in North America. You will have the opportunity to act as the "voice of the customer" as it relates to developing advanced transport solutions for Mack and Volvo trucks. Together with your colleagues and co-workers you will find yourself in a global environment in delivering Maintainability solutions to customers using our products all over the world. The team you lead will follow processes and methodologies to deliver products and solutions.
You will be expected to lead the group effectively and manage deliveries in start cost, maintenance, and advanced engineering projects. You will also be key in driving change by continuously enforcing a Lean Engineering setup. In this position you will be part of the North America Aftermarket Technology Management Team and will report to the Aftermarket North America Director.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Lead the Maintainability Engineering team for assigned products and technologies in Greensboro, NC and Hagerstown, MD.
- Facilitate concept reviews, packaging studies, and gap analysis to ensure designs optimized for maintainability.
- Guide the team to build product and technology business cases to support concept selection optimized for maintainability.
- Coordinate with brands and uptime stakeholders to document customer needs (product targets).
- Support team in balancing maintainability cost requirements within all technology streams.
- Contribute to the global strategy development for maintainability within all Volvo Technology and Vehicle streams.
- Manage the budget and resource planning for the team short term and long-term goals.
- Actively drive change according to the global strategies and ways of working.
- Cultivate an Agile mindset in all team members where problems are embraced as welcome opportunities to adapt.
- Active leadership in the Global Maintainability Management Team, and Aftermarket North America management team.
- Build an effective and highly productive team with an expectation of on-time deliveries.
- Drive Continuous Improvement mindset amongst employees.

Aftermarket Technology provides Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, Mack Trucks, VECV and partly Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Bus and Volvo Penta with the best possible solutions supporting their aftermarket business. Thanks to our deep technical, business and customer knowledge, we deliver solutions and services for the salesmen, the mechanics and parts personnel at dealerships and other service points such as Spare Parts Assortment, Parts Information, Diagnostics and Repair Information, Service Planning and supporting systems solutions and tools. In Aftermarket Technology we aim at securing that Volvo Group Truck vehicles can be easily maintained to secure uptime. Aftermarket Technology teams are working close to engineering functions as well as to end customers and are in Hagerstown, Greensboro, Lyon, Gothenburg, Curitiba, Bangalore and Brisbane.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Master’s Degree preferred
- 8-12+ years of related industry experience
- 3-5 years previous management with direct supervisory experience
- Experience from Product development preferred
- Experience working in a continental/global and cross functional organization
- Knowledge of the overall business fundamentals, customer needs and key players in the transportation industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
