DutiesWhat will I do in this position if hired?
In this position, you will be scheduling, obtaining, and filing court documentation; maintaining databases and records of ongoing litigation; working with case management systems for the purpose of search, discovery, and the tagging of relevant and responsive litigation information.
Typical assignments include:
- Clearly and concisely communicating with clients and other stakeholders for the purpose of obtaining or clarifying information.
- Generating scheduled reports and tables that reflect the status of pending cases, case files, briefs filed, and cases argued.
- Maintaining records for the assigned organization in accordance with the agency's records management program and systems.
- Managing correspondence services by reviewing all incoming and outgoing documents to ensure appropriate procedures and clearances have been obtained and are in accordance with agency policies, as well as aligning with the views of the supervisor.

QualificationsCurrent Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade and qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for this position at the GS-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
- Receiving and reviewing complaints seeking damages in federal court, AND
- Reviewing legal documents to extract selected data and information and summarizing legal documents in a prescribed format, AND
- Searching for and extracting legal references in databases and communicating orally and in writing effectively.
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or at least three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a related field (Transcript required).
OR
Combination of specialized experience, as described in the vacancy announcement, and related graduate level education, beyond the first full year of graduate level study, that when combined, meet the qualification requirements for this position (Transcript required).
