The Trade Desk Network Operation, Network Engineers work closely with the Network Reliability Engineering Team, the Data Center Engineering team, and various SRE teams to provide operational support at scale for the network that runs globally distributed systems.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Support, troubleshoot, extend, and improve the network across physical datacenters and circuits, and multi-provider cloud environments.
- Support thousands of hosts worldwide with petabyte-scale data challenges.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and postmortem discussions to effectively drive long-term operational health improvements.
- Analyze process gaps and implement solutions to speed up execution and reduce manual toil.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and the OSI model.
- Strong understanding of IP networks and the protocols needed to run large-scale networks.
- Experience troubleshooting complex network issues.
- Experience working in a DevOps environment, using network automation tools such as Ansible, Git and Python.
- Experience contributing to monitoring and alerting systems.
- Experience with cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services, Azure or Alibaba Cloud.
- Experience working with network operating systems such as Cumulus Linux, SONiC, Cisco IOS and Junos.
- Experience in or interest towards platform engineering; daily usage of technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker, specifically around being able to plan and build infrastructure to support these types of applications and troubleshooting the networking components of them.
- Must be open to working in a hybrid work model.

The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $102,400—$187,700 USD.
