The City of Berkeley is seeking an Information Technology Project Manager (Senior Systems Analyst) to join the Information Technology Department! This position offers the opportunity to project manage a technology program portfolio in the development and implementation lifecycle of various enterprise systems; business intelligence and reporting, data warehousing and GIS solutions critical to the efficient functioning of City of Berkeley operations. Your responsibilities may include project managing, coordinating and/or leading a team of application developers, analysts, and support staff, vendor management and other tasks to ensure that systems meet the needs of different departments within the City while adhering to regulatory requirements and security standards. Your span of influence covers all departments within the City, from Financials to Public Safety to the Waterfront to name a few.
A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above is completion of four (4) years of college resulting in graduation or its equivalent, and three (3) years of experience in systems analysis and programming of business applications, including one (1) year in the analysis or design of large-scale computer systems and databases.
The ideal candidate will have experience in Technology Program Management, with a significant focus on software development or technology operations projects. They will also have experience working with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Service Now, MS Project, Asana, Aha!, MS Teams or other collaboration and project management tools. Extensive experience managing vendors and tracking vendor tasks against project deliverables is highly desirable.
