Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for inspiring and developing their team, ensuring excellent guest service, and upholding Luna Grill’s High Standards. This position is responsible for providing team leadership and focusing on restaurant level operational, financial and personnel performance.
This includes monitoring business results of each restaurant, team member development and documentation, training tool utilization, quality assurance, guest relations, inventory management, safety, security and being the central driving force for realizing and implementing operational improvements and changes.
LEADERSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT
- Builds a team of top performers by coaching and developing future leaders; by providing clear, consistent direction, clear performance feedback and recognizing individual and team contributions.
- Ensures that all team members are properly trained, and coaching, counseling, and performance feedback is provided on a regular and timely basis.
- Makes personnel decisions regarding transfers, promotions, terminations and other employment decisions and obtains approval as necessary.
- Ensures that team members are paid properly and receive appropriate benefits.
- Provides clear direction and ensures that team members are kept abreast of Luna Grill company communications, policy changes, etc.
- Maintains courteous, professional and effective working relationships with team members at all levels of the organization.
- Listens to team member suggestions for improving how work is done and guests are served. Gains management support as needed to act upon suggestions.
- Knowledgeable of policies regarding personnel and administers prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
- Ensures all team members understand their roles & responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Possess and instill high quality standards for production and guest service.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills. Detail oriented, organized and efficient. Safety-minded.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
- Ability to work productively with little to no supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.
- Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system.
- Computer literate using Microsoft Office. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred - must be able to communicate (speak, read, write) in the primary language of the work location.
Education/Experience Requirements
Must have a minimum of three (3) years restaurant experience (knowledge of both the BOH and FOH is strongly preferred); Luna Grill experience is ideal. Three (3) Years Supervisory/Management Experience strongly preferred. High School Diploma Required; A.A. Degree Preferred.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent standing/walking, sitting, bending, twisting neck and waist, reaching above and below shoulders and squatting, using hands, reaching or grasping with hands and arms, and being able to lift up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis. Must be able to work under pressure and be flexible to work long hours, sometimes irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Must comply with Company’s Appearance and Dress Code standard as set forth in the Team Member Handbook. Works primarily indoors in temperature-controlled, clean, and well-lighted environment. Makes frequent trips to the kitchen, where air may be moist, warm, and odorous from cooking foods. Kitchen floors are uneven and may be slippery from moisture and grease.
