The Technical Sales Manager plays a critical part in our sales process through ensuring client satisfaction by designing coffee rollouts and implementing new machines. Ultimately, the ideal candidate can overcome hurdles in the sales process by conveying trustworthy industry knowledge and expertise.
Salary Range: $95,000 - $120,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Partners with sales department to win new business and increase sales.
- Works with customers to design their coffee programs, especially the rollout and implementation of new machines.
- Responsible for leading the sales process for preventative maintenance programs and after-sale support.
- Provides technical support for new and existing customers to support pre and post-sales processes.
- Defines customers' digital requirements, including dashboards, analytics, telemetry, and API implementations.
- Provides Product Management with customer feedback to help identify potential new features or products.
- Identifies digital and technical solutions to reduce after-sale support costs.
- Addresses all product-related queries promptly from customers, internal departments, and service providers.
- This position will be part of a team with strengths in all or a few primary skills.
Requirements:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must love and appreciate coffee and espresso.
- 2-3 years of equipment engineering and/or equivalent technical experience.
- Strong business acumen coupled with an ability to grasp customers’ needs.
- Project management skills.
- Product implementation/installation experience from a sales engineering perspective.
- Field testing experience is a plus.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field; can be substituted by experience for highly qualified individuals.
- Working in locations including convenience stores, quick-serve restaurants, restaurants, hotels, and service provider locations.
- 5+ years experience in the coffee and/or hot dispensed beverage industry.
- Responsible for managing up to 5 national and 15 regional accounts.
Working Conditions / Physical Demand:
- Sitting or standing at a desk while using the phone and computer.
- Occasionally lifting of up to 50 pounds.
