About The Role:
The melin Vice President of Sales, U.S. will lead and direct the execution of all wholesale sales functions for the Specialty, Majors, and Greengrass (Golf) business channels. The V.P. of Sales will execute long-term and seasonal marketplace strategies to meet or exceed fiscal year revenue budgets. This role will lead the flawless execution of seasonal brand initiatives within the wholesale channel. The V.P. of Sales will direct and oversee a relentless review of partnership criteria to ensure best-in-class distribution, building long-term strategic partnerships within the wholesale channel. This position is responsible for managing the entire U.S. wholesale sales team as well as developing and maintaining strong cross functional partnerships with Sales Operations, Merchandising, Marketing, Financial Services, Customer Experience, Demand Planning, DTC channel leads (eCommerce and Retail), and Global Product and Demand Creation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Direct and coordinate all aspects of the sales plan by account to fulfill the growth and revenue goals of the brand. Oversee and drive business in three core business channels: Specialty, Majors, and Golf/Green Grass Resort.
- Collaborate with Omni Leadership and Finance to develop a 3-year rolling Revenue Plan, Annual Sales Operating Expense Plan, in conjunction with the annual business planning process.
- Experience working in customization of product for golf and resort accounts.
- Responsible for meeting and/or exceeding fiscal year and quarterly revenue and margin targets.
- Refine and implement wholesale strategies for the continued strength of the brands, as needed, to address the dynamic marketplace and industry.
- Design and deliver fully aligned seasonal and annual business plans for each strategic customer.
- Develop and maintain exceptional strategic account relationships that lead to collaborative account management.
- Work with Sales Management and Merchandising to provide input on commercial growth opportunities.
- Develop a data driven mindset across the sales organization to inform all commercial decisions, to implement new marketplace strategies and guide seasonal initiatives.
- Align resources to optimize brand strategies and seasonal priorities.
- Manage, mentor, train, develop, and inspire in-house sales team along with independent sales agents.
- Partner with design/merchandising to develop proper assortment, SKU plan, and category expansion opportunities.
- Utilize retail selling and sell-through information to identify opportunities, risks, and actions with a focus on account and internal profitability.
- Collaborate on Marketing and Retail Marketing campaigns.
- Domestic Travel is required to facilitate Specialty, Key Accounts, Trade Shows, Conferences, and Product Launch meetings.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Must be willing to go above and beyond to achieve established goals. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for success:
- MUST have a minimum of 15 years of sales leadership experience with a minimum of 5 years in a wholesale consumer goods, outdoor, golf, lifestyle brand for apparel, accessories, or footwear industries.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with strong analytical business acumen.
- Strong knowledge of retail math. Ability to run analytical reports for business analysis (open to buy, gross margin, markdown).
- Exceptional presentation skills to senior level executives and large groups.
- Ability to work in a large corporate environment.
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Full Circle, DOMO is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree; business degree required.
- 60% travel, in-office presence required.
Location & Office Structure: This position is an in-office position five days a week in San Clemente, CA and subject to change based on business needs.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $180,000-$225,000 plus opportunity for annual bonus; salary is based on the experience that you bring to the position.
