Director of Accounts (West Coast & Canada)
Summary
Working inside the Montage Global Sales Organization, the Director of Accounts is responsible to prospect, establish and grow a broad base of accounts that enable the portfolio and individual business units to meet and/or exceed set revenue goals. This position is designated for a seasoned sales professional who has demonstrated consistent strong revenue production.
As a true sales leader, this individual will promote and implement best-in-class strategy and relationship building techniques to further strengthen Montage as the leader in the luxury hospitality space.
The Director of Accounts may also have property-specific goals and responsibilities depending on the individual and business needs of the company.
Essential Functions
- Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, and written communication. Attend trade shows, community events, and industry meetings.
- Participate in daily business review meetings, pre-convention meetings, training, and other sales-related meetings as required.
- Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers.
- Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and customers.
- Partner with the individual hotels and other GSO associates to evolve the global sales operations framework to keep pace with rapidly changing and growing business needs.
- Drive continuous improvement of key processes (e.g. forecasting, opportunity management, quoting, lead management, etc.).
- Lead and participate in special projects and teams to drive business objectives, best-practice sharing, and process standardization.
- Measure and analyze data and drive sales analysis activities that are aligned with our global business and growth strategies.
- Provide analytical support and counsel to improve strategies, coverage models, and territory configurations to maximize sales effectiveness.
- Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports, and file maintenance.
Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 5+ years’ prior hotel sales or related experience required.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must possess basic computational ability.
- Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi.
- Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills, as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
- Extensive knowledge of sales.
- Ability to assess/evaluate Associates’ performance fairly.
- Extensive knowledge of revenue management.
- Ability to recruit, supervise, train, and motivate multiple levels of managers.
- Knowledge of hotel and competitive market.
- Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate action plans.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit at a desk for at least 5 hours per day. Walking and standing are required for the rest of the working day. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
The pay range for this position is $105,000 to $125,000. The pay scale is the base salary or hourly wage range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like, that Montage reasonably expects to pay for the position.
