Job Overview: The Litigation Of Counsel will be critical in managing and overseeing complex litigation matters, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring high-quality legal representation for clients.
Job Duties:
- Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
- Supervise associates and collaborate with other team members.
- Work closely with experts in various fields relevant to litigation cases.
- Assist in fact development and conduct depositions as necessary.
- Review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
- Contribute to the development of case strategy and provide insightful legal analysis.
- Produce deliverables, answer client inquiries promptly, and maintain responsive communication.
- Adhere to firm policies and practices, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Engage in physical and sedentary activities, including extensive computer work and virtual meetings.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of litigation experience, ideally from an AmLaw 100 firm.
- Experience in product liability and complex commercial litigation.
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and medical device industries is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and writing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Sound business judgment and excellent organizational abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently as needed.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research and problem-solving.
- Ability to think conceptually and influence others effectively.
- Management skills to supervise and mentor junior associates.
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
- Strong academic credentials from nationally recognized institutions.
- Additional degrees or certifications such as MD, MPH, PharmD, or Epidemiology are preferred.
- Licensed to practice law in New York and admitted to practice in DC.
