Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Job Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer will lead all financial and IT activities of the corporation. She or he will direct accounting operations involving the production of monthly financial reports; the system maintenance of account records and internal controls that will ensure a level of consistency for reported results that comply with generally accepted accounting principles and which will allow Farm & Home Supply to deliver on its customer promise and to drive expected profitability results.
In this role, the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for: accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, the development of internal control policies and procedures, treasury, fixed asset tracking and reporting, cash flow, accounts payable, payroll and tax reporting, and debt financing. This is to include contract receivables and all related invoicing as well as the management of Information Technology.
This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and interacts extensively with Executive Leadership, departmental peers, and all other appropriate personnel within the organization to ensure the IT and Accounting functions meet or exceed all operational and financial goals that drive overall organizational performance.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the Accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
- Manages and oversees the IT Department.
- Works cross-functionally with other Department Directors to monitor each department’s expenses, and make recommendations based upon data, to increase the profitability of the Company.
Responsibilities:
- Executing the financial strategy of Farm & Home Supply.
- Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
- Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
- Reviews budget planning process and suggests improvements to current methods.
- Analyzes accounting operations to identify areas in need of process improvement or reorganization.
- Works with the President, CEO, and Leadership Team to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the financial budgeting and planning process.
- Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
- Monitors the ongoing financial trends, the variances to prior year and projected budget, and communicates to Executive Leadership as needed.
- Identifies opportunities for expansion into new product areas.
- Oversees and identifies investment opportunities and investment of funds.
- Performs other related duties as appropriate.

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
- Eight to ten years of experience in financial management required.
- Retail finance experience preferred.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Completes special projects as directed by the Chief Executive Officer of Farm & Home Supply. Additional responsibilities may be assigned at any given time.
- Positive attitude with a passion for collaborating with Team Members that want to grow.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Valid Driver’s License and Ability to drive to all Farm & Home Supply store locations.
