DMI is looking for an experienced Construction/Real Estate Attorney to provide legal advice and representation in construction and real estate matters. We are open to a full-time or part-time model.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for conducting due diligence on properties, settling disputes concerning real estate, and representing our Company in court.
- Handle legal risks in real estate transactions, as well as ensure compliance with real estate laws and regulations.
- Review, modify, and create construction contracts, government contracts, and contractor agreements that protect from potential general liability and payment protection issues.
- Provide legal counsel.
- Prepare legal documents, such as correspondence, motions, pleadings, briefs, and claims on behalf of the client.
- Resolve construction claims and disputes regarding contracts, construction defects, torts, payments, bond claims, and liens to avoid litigation and arbitration where possible.
- Mediate, negotiate, arbitrate, litigate, and argue motions on behalf of our Company during legal proceedings in court.
- Supervise tasks assigned to administrative staff to set up legal billing, meetings, and wrap up of case projects.
