Your Impact
We are looking for a Product Marketing Director to join our Global Product and Partner Marketing Team. As an experienced marketing director, you’re a versatile collaborator who can lead the product marketing strategy for Axon’s core Devices, DEMS, Real-time Operations (RTO), and Productivity pillars. In this role, you will determine the best strategies to fulfill strategic marketing objectives and work with a team of talented product marketers to execute successful programs.
Our ideal Product Marketing Director will be a go-to, reliable “Player-Coach” team leader who can work cross-functionally to translate in-depth product knowledge into compelling internal and external content. You have extensive work with a SaaS/software product set and understand the unique nature of selling subscription software plans. You’ll be central to helping build marketing-influenced sales pipeline in both mature and new markets and increase product adoption of Axon solutions across all customer sets. And as more customers adopt Axon’s life-saving technologies, you’ll have a direct impact on making communities safer around the world.
What You’ll Do
Location: Remotely from United States
Reports to: Senior Director, Global Product & Partner Marketing
- Create strategic marketing plans to grow our Devices, DEMS, RTO, & Productivity product pillars, including market research, strategy, messaging and positioning, collateral, competitive intelligence, sales enablement, and KPIs/reporting
- Work closely with Marketing, Product, & Sales leaders to understand the needs of a successful GTM plan and execute that plan with a defined feedback loop on success metrics
- Collaborate closely with Product pillar leaders to know the product roadmap and launch new products & features with an established product launch playbook
- Support and/or lead in the creation of marketing content such as messaging frameworks, slide presentations, product cards and 1-pagers for Tier 1 product launches and new market entry
- Create and execute programs for voice of customer, competitive intelligence and other research to understand how to position the product in a way that resonates with customers and differentiates Axon from other offerings
- Collaborate with the Content Marketing team to build campaign strategy efforts by intimately understanding customers and their pain points, product and use case nuances, and pivoting when needed to adapt plans and narratives to various segments that drive sales pipeline
- Build and lead a high-performing product marketing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and career development opportunities
- Track product marketing budget and create detailed budgeting documentation for monthly reporting needs
- Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback to ensure the team's success
- Collaborate cross-functionally in Monday.com and Slack to give full visibility and provide regular updates
What You Bring
- 7+ years of SaaS product marketing experience, with experience leading a product marketing team
- Proven track record of successfully launching new products and increasing adoption of existing products
- Exceptional leadership skills with ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive successful outcomes
- Familiarity with public safety and ability to make complex information simple for customers
- Outstanding writing and communications skills, and ability to adjust content based on insights and feedback
- Working knowledge of a broad set of marketing channels to help influence campaign strategy and tactics
- Proven ability to manage successful business relationships, and equally comfortable giving high fives and tough love
- Self-starter personality and comfort with ambiguity
- Resourceful and scrappy, with an ability to deliver outsized results with the resources available
- Experience managing product marketing budgets with granular tracking and reporting
- Bachelor’s in Marketing, Communications, or related field

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 133,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 238,000 in the highest geographic market. The on target earnings range for this role is between USD 168,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 300,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
