About the Role
Essity Professional Hygiene North America Inc. is looking for an experienced Segment Director. The Sales Director Segments is responsible for the End Customer strategy for Commercial, Healthcare, Industrial, Public Interest, and HORECA, its sales results, leading, developing and following up related sales activities in the Segments with the Segment Key Account Directors. To make sure that agreed sales growth, retention and profitability targets are achieved, according to set goals and strategy for End Customers in each Segment. End Customers are divided into Segments, which are HORECA, Healthcare, Commercial & Public Interest, Industrial, & GPO Contract Management. The SD reports to the VP Sales & Marketing and works closely with Customer Marketing & Commercial Excellence Director to translate strategic guidance into clear action plans to drive End Customer sales via Regional Sales and with End Customers directly. Furthermore, the SD is responsible for securing the execution of the different Segment plans that are created together with the Commercial Planning Team and support from Field Sales Directors. The SD has strong collaboration with Field Sales Directors to manage complexity and different viewpoints in order to incorporate Segment plans in the countries and to lead, develop and support their own team of Segment Key Account Directors. Furthermore, the SD is responsible for implementing and executing NA GtM strategies and best practice standards and policy within BU/Essity.
What You Will Do
- Secures that Segment Key Account Directors build, maintain, develop and grow strong relationships and business with targeted End Customers in their own Segment and clear customer communication, following customer marketing directives, following overall End Customer directives to ensure targets are met regarding End Customer satisfaction & retention, profit and profitable growth.
- Secure implementation and goal achievement of agreed sales plan from the VP S & M and Commercial Excellence Director within their own area of responsibility.
- Responsible for own End Customer Strategy that is created together with the VP S & M and the Commercial Excellence Director.
- Collaborates with Regional Sales Directors when needed.
- Drive sales activities with Segment Key Account Directors on sales forecast, business reviews, financial forecasts and agreed Sales KPIs.
- Enforce Segment Key Account Directors to own the P & L for Segments within the S & M Region.
- Secure that the Segment Key Account Directors go to market with a business optimal End Customer set up, product mix, hygiene solutions, strategic product mix, which contributes to profitability, profitable growth, retention/churn according to agreed goals and budget.
- Secures agreed pricing levels aligned to strategic and local pricing levels, which contributes to profitable growth with End Customers.
- Position TORK as the partner of choice and preferred brand with End Customers.
- Build and develop strong relationships, understanding and collaboration within sales and related functional teams such as Marketing, Logistics, E-Commerce, Sales Operations, HR etc.
- Actively develop own Segment Key Account Directors' competence and secure talent pipeline succession for the NA S & M organization.
- Secure that own Segment Key Account Directors have a high degree of competence that correlates with the Organization's capability demands, such as knowledge and skills in/of Business systems, sales & sales technique/analytics/leadership/customer/organizational/products & hygiene solutions/administrational competence.
- Lead own organization according to Essity Leadership platform “Leading Business”. Lead & develop own Segment Key Account Directors in order to achieve maximum efficiency for NA S & M.
Who You Are
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business or Sales & Marketing. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
- 10+ years in sales experience in leadership roles.
- Proven experience from Sales B2B.
- Prior experience working in a matrixed organization and cross-continental collaboration at a global company.
- Thought leadership, with proven successful leadership experience.
- Managed a bigger sales organization in a matrix organization.
- Have successfully led change.
- Demonstrated capability to translate growth strategies into practical sales plans, best practices and operational structures with a broad portfolio of business model and industry vertical commercial experiences.
- Excellent business acumen, strategic planning, analytical, communication, project management, and change management skills.
- Customer success obsession and a bold passion for working towards results and customer satisfaction.
- Strong leadership impact and ability to consult with and challenge business leaders at multiple levels within the organization regarding their needs, gaps and operational plans.
- Strong communicator able to assemble and clearly articulate key strategies, plans and reports aligned to drive tangible business impact. Strong listening and facilitation skills.
