Aon is looking for a Senior Managing Director, Facultative Reinsurance to join its industry-leading Casualty Team in Chicago or New York City! Your impact as a Senior Managing Director:
- Direct focus on new Facultative broking production - producing new business and developing sales and marketing strategy designed to cultivate revenue generation opportunities.
- Uses key business parameters to evaluate department efficiency.
- Viewed as a key client manager and reinsurer contact; receives high client satisfaction results by achieving clients’ reinsurance placement goals.
- Grows existing accounts, seeks new account opportunities via a team environment that is capable of managing and servicing a significant book of business.
- Achieves placement goals at or above set levels and drives team to do the same.
- Ability to effectively and independently conduct relevant business discussions at the most senior level (CEO/CFO).
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with clients and reinsurers.
- Establishes credibility with clients through day-to-day interactions.
- Demonstrates problem-solving techniques to best meet the clients’ needs; is recognized as a solution provider for complex client issues.
- Sets realistic expectations and timelines with clients; then, able to produce results.
- Ensures all placements are thoroughly reviewed and delivered to the client within the acceptable cycle time.
- Works closely in collaboration with Aon Treaty and Aon Retail broking teams to focus efforts on the development of new business.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of all available Aon resources and solutions available, and matching those to client business requirements.
- Adheres to Aon processes and procedures and all quality service requirements to deliver exceptional client value.
- Recognized as a company leader; committed to continuous improvement and client relationship management.
- Leads a team of professionals or holds equivalent senior business responsibility.
- Acts as a mentor to broking professionals and develops people to maximum potential.
- Champions and promotes team approach to both internal and external business relationships.
- Handles T&E expenses for self and team within corporate guidelines.
- Commitment to pursuing self-development of knowledge and skills in the evolving world of insurance, reinsurance, and analytics.
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise:
- A minimum of 15 - 20 years broking and/or underwriting commercial lines experience, with a focus on casualty insurance.
- Produces over $2m of casualty facultative brokerage for the Team.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- CPCU or ARE designation or progression towards is preferred but not required.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of casualty insurance (previous experience in reinsurance is an asset).
- Previous formal or informal experience in leading teams and/or direct reports.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with capability to interact with major clients to cultivate and maintain strong relationships at a most senior level.
- Strong market presence within the broking industry.
- Excellent communicator (both verbally and in writing) with internal and external clients.
- Ambitious attitude with high level of accountability for profitability and client satisfaction.
- Excellent organization and time management skills; able to multi-task and lead projects and direct reports.
- Ability to drive team(s) to deliver the highest in client service, quality, and results.
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to make sound business decisions.
- Known problem-solver who anticipates issues and suggests creative solutions.
- Ability to adopt and inspire change in support of the business unit’s and company’s goals.
- Working knowledge of MS Office suite of products with ability to learn and use multiple software and system-based applications.

Pay Transparency Laws: The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is [$250,000 to $300,000] annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
