Senior Backend Engineer - Bay Area, USA
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Architect to help build Telestream's next generation Cloud products. Our products are the engine that powers media and workflow throughout the world's top media broadcasters and creators.
You will play a crucial role in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Kubernetes, proficiency in one or more public Cloud providers, and in-depth knowledge of either C#, Go, or Java. Our platforms run millions of jobs, processing across multiple Cloud providers and regions.
Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure: Solid operational experience with Kubernetes, monitoring (ELK stack)
- Programming: Demonstrate deep proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: C#, Go, or Java.
- Expertise in test-driven development.
- Container Orchestration: Proven experience with Kubernetes, including Helm for managing and deploying applications.
- Cloud Provider Expertise: Work with one or more public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to architect and implement solutions.
- Database and Caching Layers: Design and implement distributed database solutions (we use a variety of database technologies). Implement and optimize caching layers for performance improvement.
- Message Brokers: Work with message brokers for asynchronous communication between microservices. Design and implement scalable and reliable messaging solutions.
- Helm Chart Development: Create and maintain Helm charts for deploying applications and services. Ensure Helm charts adhere to best practices for security and scalability.
- Technology Evaluation and Adoption: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in cloud computing. Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance system efficiency and performance.
- Take accountability for project delivery, both as a hands-on contributor & architect.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 4+ years of proven experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Helm.
- Demonstrable proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: C#, Go, or Java.
- Hands-on experience with one or more public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP). It is a big plus if you're flexible here: we deploy to all environments!
- Solid understanding of distributed database systems, caching layers, and message brokers.
- Ability to create and maintain Helm charts for deployment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Continuous learning mindset to stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Experience working with media & video is a huge plus, but not required.
