The Role:
Director of Operations – SABLE at Navy Pier Chicago, Curio Collection By Hilton.
Sable at Navy Pier Chicago, a Maverick Hotels & Restaurants property, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations to lead the daily operations of our iconic hotel. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food and beverage management and embody a guest-centric approach that enhances the overall guest experience. We are looking for someone who exemplifies the Maverick spirit—bold, innovative, and committed to excellence. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive operational success, foster a positive work environment, and ensure that all guest touchpoints are exceptional.
What You’ll Do:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including food and beverage, front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance. Ensure seamless coordination and adherence to the highest standards, embracing the Maverick spirit of innovation and excellence.
- Food and Beverage Management: Lead and manage the food and beverage operations, including restaurants, bars, room service, and event catering. Ensure exceptional service quality, cost control, and compliance with health and safety regulations, all while delivering a unique and memorable dining experience.
- Rooms Division: Lead the front office and housekeeping teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations with the highest guest service standards.
- Guest Experience: Champion a guest-centric culture, continually improving service delivery to exceed guest expectations. Implement strategies to enhance guest satisfaction and promptly address any service issues, always putting the guest at the center of everything we do.
- Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor department heads and team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Encourage professional growth and motivate staff to deliver exceptional service, in line with the Maverick spirit.
- Financial Management: Monitor and manage operational budgets, including cost control in food and beverage, labor, and other expenses. Collaborate with the finance team to achieve financial targets and optimize profitability, applying strategic thinking to drive results.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness, safety, and service quality across all areas of the hotel. Regularly review and implement operational procedures to maintain brand standards and uphold the Maverick commitment to excellence.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Relations: Manage relationships with key vendors, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring the hotel’s operational needs are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the General Manager on long-term strategic goals for the hotel, including growth opportunities, process improvements, and guest experience enhancements. Lead with vision and innovation, reflective of the Maverick spirit.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel operations, with a strong focus on food and beverage management.
- Proven track record of leading teams and driving operational excellence in a high-end, guest-focused environment.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and make decisions quickly.
