As the Director of Procurement, you would be stepping into a crucial role that supports this vision by managing and optimizing procurement processes to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness. Your role as Director of Procurement at YES Communities will involve a range of key responsibilities that are central to optimizing the company's procurement function. Here’s a summary of the essential duties and how they contribute to the organization:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing Strategy: Develop and execute sourcing strategies to engage with key suppliers, ensuring that procurement aligns with YES Communities’ objectives.
- Process Optimization: Evaluate and refine current procurement processes to enhance efficiency, streamline operations, and reduce unnecessary costs.
- Market Research & Vendor Assessment: Conduct thorough market research to identify and assess potential vendors, negotiate favorable terms and pricing, and ensure alignment with company needs.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with senior management and other stakeholders to understand procurement needs and align strategies with broader business goals.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and sustain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring they meet quality standards and adhere to contractual agreements.
- Supplier Performance Monitoring: Regularly evaluate supplier performance, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring that suppliers are meeting agreed-upon standards.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms, pricing, and service level agreements, balancing cost with quality and service.
- Contract Review & Compliance: Review contract terms and conditions to minimize risk and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Best Practices & Continuous Improvement: Implement procurement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall effectiveness and cost-efficiency.
In this role, you’ll play a critical part in shaping procurement strategies that support YES Communities' operational goals and long-term success.
To achieve success at YES
- Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred): A degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Procurement Certification (Preferred): Certification such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or similar credentials will be a significant advantage.
- Proven Experience: Extensive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier management is required, with a minimum of 4 years in a management role.
- Strong Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts and manage vendor relationships effectively.
- Expert Knowledge: Deep understanding of procurement best practices, supply chain management principles, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving.
- Exceptional Communication & Intrapersonal Skills: Ability to influence, collaborate, and effectively communicate with various stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Salary: $125,000 - $175,000 + bonus + benefits
