Position Summary:
The Plant Director leads the manufacturing plant towards achievement of their goals and objectives for the production, quality, maintenance, and warehouse departments. This position develops initiatives and manages change for cost control, productivity, quality, safety, waste reduction and customer service improvement. The Plant Director collaborates with functional leaders for sales, distribution, fleet, transportation, supply/demand planning, engineering, quality, human resources and safety to achieve goals and objectives. This position maintains regulatory compliance for food safety, environmental, and brand owner requirements.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Lead the manufacturing plant management team by modeling leadership behaviors that drive employee engagement and meet customer expectations
- Develop and execute annual business plan for manufacturing cost center controllable costs, i.e., labor, utilities, supplies, maintenance, repair, etc.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the manufacturing plant’s strategic and tactical plans to achieve the plant’s overall goals and objectives
- Develop and maintain a 5-year capital investment plan for asset stewardship, cost reduction, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reduction, package/flavor/process capability, etc.
- Review financial statements, performance data, etc. to analyze manufacturing variances and use the information to create/execute action plans within the manufacturing plant
- Conduct monthly meetings to communicate manufacturing plant’s performance compared to goals to all employees i.e., KPI performance goals, etc.
- Develop and maintain business continuity and crisis management plans
- Maintain compliance with company-wide standard operating procedures
- Develop local standard operating practices/processes and procedures as needed
- Select, train, develop and retain department leaders
- Create and execute business and leadership development plans for department leaders
- Build and maintain a culture accountable to goals, objectives, and regulatory compliance
- Develop and maintain the highest standard for safety awareness and safety training completion
- Maintain business processes in support of brand owner requirements, food safety audits, regulatory requirements, internal business control audits, etc.
- Drive continuous improvement plans for all departments using Operations Excellence tools
- Collaborate with centralized support team members for execution of company-wide initiatives including Lean projects, TPM, resource conservation, best-practice sharing, and other initiatives
- Collaborate with centralized supply/demand planning team to accomplish product availability and customer service objectives
- Other projects or duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with 10 plus years of operations, manufacturing or production experience and 6 plus years people leadership experience or HS Diploma/GED with 13 plus years operations, manufacturing or production experience and 7 plus years of people leadership experience

Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Master’s degree in engineering
- Food and/or Beverage manufacturing experience
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher
