We are seeking a Director of Business Strategy to join our team! This is an exciting new opportunity to play a crucial role in generating and delivering data-driven insights and analyses that will help senior and executive leadership understand business performance and make informed decisions.
In this important role, you will collaborate with both administrative services teams (HR, Finance, IT) and supportive service teams to support and contribute to broader business initiatives. The Business and Strategy Analyst will work closely with Business Partners from the administrative services teams, support senior leadership in various programs, and report directly to the COO and CAO. Additional responsibilities include:
- Support and drive all aspects of the business planning process, building and enhancing these processes to deliver actionable and insightful performance metrics, analysis and recommendations.
- Guide discussions with program leaders, administrative leaders and the senior leadership team to understand business performance, financial results and enhance the business’ ability to meet and exceed targets.
- Codify and lead an ongoing business planning process in conjunction with the COO and CAO, program leaders and administrative leaders from across the business.
- Manage and execute special projects, performing complex analysis, summarizing conclusions and making recommendations to the senior leadership team.
- Proforma and ad hoc analysis for new or expanding programs and initiatives.
- Engage in market research and analysis including demographic and economic trends and the “voice of the customer” to ensure that programs are prepared to quickly respond to rapidly changing client needs and business landscapes.
- Create and facilitate team meetings and workgroups of all sizes focused on effective implementation of elements within the business plan.
- Partner with Departments & Program leads across Easterseals and G&A functions to manage/support an annual operating plan that includes headcount, operating expenses, and strategic investments.
- Prepare budget/forecast reports for analysis and ensure the data is accurate and understand key variances to produce key summary reports/presentations.
- Develop forecasts by partnering with Department & program leads for business updates and identify potential risks & opportunities.
- Develop and manage financial models/proformas to evaluate short-term and long-term scenarios.
- Assist in the preparation of key slides for board meetings and executive committee meetings.
- Understanding of procurement, procurement controls, and procurement related data structures.
- Develop, maintain, and improve processes, tools, and systems to enhance tracking and reporting, including driving the implementation of new tools - shifting away from excel based planning.
- Build strong business partner relationships with assigned programs to develop a comprehensive understanding of their business needs, goals, and challenges in support of the Agency Strategic Plan.
- Drives in the evaluation of decisions and results of programs in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of services performed.
Qualifications:
- BBA/MBA, with significant business consulting experience.
- Big picture thinking/understanding; able to translate strategy into execution.
- Able to interact with executive leadership, staff, and clients/customers.
- Able to conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking research and able to locate and apply external datasets to inform business planning decisions.
- Experience with/ability to address “people, processes, technology, and infrastructure” holistically in the business planning context.
- Able to design and implement performance management systems/dashboards and to conduct program outcome analysis.
- Able to engage and leverage administrative functions, business partners/specialists, and external service vendors; translate between programs and administrative services.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
- Excellent financial analysis skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Hours: This is a full-time, exempt level role.
Compensation: Starting $95,000 annually.
