POSITION SUMMARY:
The Product Owner (Director) is responsible for the overall vision, execution, and optimization of a product. The role is directly accountable for the business objectives and key results achieved over the lifetime of a product. This role also acts as the business owner for product-oriented investments. The area of concentration for this position is within the Distribution vertical of the Insurance Lifecycle.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop a product vision and convert the vision into a concrete strategy and execution plan.
- Develop Distribution Objectives and Key Results and articulate how the execution plan will achieve the desired business outcomes.
- Conduct internal and external research and analysis in collaboration with the team to identify opportunities for new and existing features and functionalities.
- Act as a leader between the consumers and the technical teams, communicating consumer needs and translating those needs into new features for the team to design.
- Contribute to Requirements Gathering and Backlog Management.
- Partner with Value Chain Business Architects to develop distribution roadmaps that will be incorporated into the broader KMPR portfolio plan and catalogue.
- Develop and implement data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data into an information product that can provide production insight into the health of the business.
- Contribute to community of practices as a mentor and help improve tools and practices.
- Execute on small, medium and high complexity capabilities across Strategic and Run the Business work items.
- Decision Making and Prioritization authority.
- Acts as a voice for the business.
Position Requirements:
- Passion for solving problems, optimization, and strong process and consumer orientation and mindset.
- Passion for describing and analyzing a business process and product through data and flows.
- Practicing knowledge and experience in Agile, Scrum Master, working with UX/UI and Tech Talent.
- Highly data-oriented and results driven, focused on the customer and internal business outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferred in STEM, especially Economics, Computer Science, & Analytic Fields.
- Experience in Requirements Gathering and Backlog Management.
- 10+ years of related experience, 5+ years' experience managing large-scale, mission critical, business capabilities.
- Experience in Independent Agent and Direct to Consumer channels.
- Experience in Agency Onboarding and Licensing.
- Experience in Technology, User Experience and Design a Plus.
- The selected candidate will work a hybrid work schedule which will require weekly reporting to one of our offices in Chicago, IL, Birmingham, AL, Jacksonville, FL, Alpharetta, GA or Dallas, TX.
