CAPEX Category LeadBe regarded as a strategic and transformative thought leader in the Sourcing & Procurement of the CAPEX Category.
The CAPEX Category Lead will bring deep subject matter expertise and is seen as a thought leader in the Category Management of the CAPEX Category. This individual will have the capability to conceive, initiate, develop, communicate, and manage the execution of a CAPEX category strategy in a CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) environment. They will need to demonstrate and display a history of development and implementation of a CAPEX Category Strategy with multiple strategic initiatives delivering quantifiable benefits. Additionally, the CAPEX Category Lead will have extensive experience in business stakeholder engagement and a consultative approach to drive transformation of the CAPEX category in a client environment.
QualificationsBasic- A bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent is required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience in the job description.
Preferred- 10+ years of in-depth experience with managing CAPEX categories.
- 8+ years with a management consulting firm driving Procurement Transformation in a client environment.
- 8+ years’ experience in a CPG or Food & Beverage Manufacturing environment.
- CAPEX management experience of an annual spend of at least $500M.
- Ability to define and execute end-to-end sourcing & procurement processes including analysis, market profiles, strategy development, sourcing execution, negotiations, contracting, and supplier management.
- Ability to identify and lead transformation/improvement opportunities in CAPEX.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of SAP, Coupa, or other Procurement ERP software systems.
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to be based out of Chicago, IL with consideration for remote resources.

- Ability to travel up to 50% of your time.
The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face.
