Description
The Sales Director/Sales Manager is responsible for the sales process from lead to move-in at the community. They will also improve sales results for the community through professional referrals, lead generation events, and networking. This role is responsible for community occupancy and revenue production while demonstrating the Culture Code that Revel Communities embraces.
Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for community rental sales and maintaining budgeted occupancy and revenue
- Advancing the buying process by assisting prospective residents, their family members and/or other influencers through discovery, identifying their needs, providing education and customized experiences while acting as a trusted advisor in senior living
- Work together with the marketing team to generate the number of qualified inquiries, referrals, tours and closing rates required while accurately representing Revel services and pricing structure
- Collaborate with the Sales Director and the Regional Team in the execution of sales and marketing plans
- Develop relationships and generate inquiries with external referral sources, including legal and financial professionals, senior organizations, special interests’ groups, other senior communities, and other local community contacts
- Generate leads through residents and their families by collaborating with the Lifestyle Director to hold Friends & Family Events
- Report all sales activities, opportunities, move-ins and events to community and sales leadership
- Utilize established sales processes, systems and forms to perform job duties, track information, compile data and reports and achieve community occupancy goals
- Maintain working knowledge of lead management system and sales reporting (dashboards) to maximize sales effectiveness; input all activity in a timely and accurate manner
- Plan and conduct internal and external events to showcase community
- Lead regularly scheduled sales meetings and calls including but not limited to daily standup, weekly management and leadership meetings, monthly all associate meetings
- Collaborate with the Sales Director to ensure internal support of sales and marketing initiatives, and train community leadership on conducting effective discovery and tours
- Foster teamwork with team members, show initiative in overcoming obstacles, take actions which assist others beyond job responsibilities, and have a positive impact on team members, and visitors
- Oversee and evaluate market research and work with the regional team to adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competition. Monitor competitors’ products, sales and marketing activities, and contribute research and analysis to support decision-making and planning for major sales initiatives
- Assist with managing the department within budgetary guidelines, track inventory, order supplies, and manage expenses
- Look for ways to reduce costs and create efficiencies both within the department and within the community on a daily basis
- Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents and through the preservation of safe working practices
- Comply with the company’s standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient community operations
- Represent the company’s Culture Code on a daily basis both in and out of the community
- Promote and display a spirit of teamwork in performance of daily duties through cooperative interactions with team members and other departments
- Display a positive and professional image through behaviors and actions and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing professional clothing and/or uniform and a name tag when working
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or required

Requirements
- 2+ years of successful sales experience in a senior living, hospitality, or related industry preferred; multi-community experience a plus
- High School Diploma or equivalent work in lieu of education required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, public relations, marketing, or related field preferred
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours as well as be available to residents at peak service times and days
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to display effective planning and negotiation skills
- Ability to deal tactfully and professionally at all times with team members, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills including the ability to speak in front of small groups of people with the ability to explain and communicate complex ideas to a wide audience (employees, residents, family members, the general public, etc.)
- Ability to understand and conceptualize concepts and to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and to remain calm during stressful or emergency situations
- Ability to show sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults and demonstrate genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older people and their families
- Reasoning skills that include the ability to understand issues and process information for giving and receiving feedback and instructions
- Ability to promote a positive, friendly, and supportive environment through our Culture Code
- Proficiency with the use of computers, mobile devices (e.g., tablets, iPads), AV equipment/technology, and other office equipment (e.g., phones, scanners, copiers, fax machines, etc.) as well as possess familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
